When it comes to “holding your tongue” - Women have been told to be quiet their whole lives. I'm learning in my personal life that I have to hold my tongue with the people I care about most, simply because even if they do hear me, they won't really hear me and whatever I have to say will be misinterpreted. I use my voice in spaces where I know it will at least be heard, and avoid speaking up if I am sure what I have to say will be misconstrued, even if I feel it is important. We should learn how to use our voices in a way that other people (men and women) can understand, and really get the message we're conveying. That means adjusting how and when we speak to make sure it is always with the intention of connection and understanding at the base of any message, not just out of emotion, as emotions can be easily misinterpreted. Women shouldn't have to dance around our emotions in this way in order to truly be heard, but the way our society has evolved has made it this way for women

If you didn't have one of these keychains if you were in my elementary school - You were NOT COOL! Only the coolest kids had these things. 15 seconds of some songs you'll be hearing on the radio anyway! Who doesn't want to listen to "bye bye bye" on repeat? Literally, just those three words, and maybe a couple more.

She’s reaching for words, reaching for music, reaching for stories. Reaching for anything she can grab on to. But as soon as she grabs hold of it, it disappears in her hands. She’s still falling. She screams, but no one can hear her. She’s alone in an empty room. Chained to the wall with invisible chains she can only see when she thinks hard about them. She is light. She is dark. She is everything she could possibly imagine. And nothing at the same
